All residents of the Town of Troy vote at the Troy Town Hall (Troy Government Center) located at 654 Glover Road.  Polls will be open from 7:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m. 

 

VOTER REGISTRATION

New voter registration laws enacted January 1, 2006 require all Wisconsin voters to complete a voter registration application before they can vote.  If you are not sure if you are registered, please call the clerk at 425-2665 and check.  Or go to the Government Accountability Board website at http://vpa.wi.gov.  If you know you haven’t registered, you can register at the Town Hall during office hours.  The form used to register is Form EB-131.  You can also download the registration application (form #EB-131) from the Wisconsin State Elections Board website (http://elections.state.wi.us/) and mail it before the 2nd Wednesday proceeding the election to the Town of Troy, 654 Glover Rd, Hudson, WI  54016.  All first time Wisconsin voters must include proof of residency also.

 

VOTING BY ABSENTEE BALLOT

Any qualified elector may request to vote an absentee ballot.  A qualified elector is any U. S. citizen who will be 18 years of age or older on Election Day and who has resided in the Town of Troy for at least 10 days before the election.  You must be registered to vote before you can receive an absentee ballot.  

 

TO OBTAIN AN ABSENTEE BALLOT YOU MUST MAKE YOUR REQUEST IN WRITING.

You may:

1.      Contact the clerk and request that an application for an absentee ballot be sent to you for the election. 

2.      Download the application for an absentee ballot (Form EB-121) and mail it to the clerk at Town of Troy, 654 Glover Rd., Hudson WI  54016..

3.      You may also request an absentee ballot by letter. Your written request must list your voting address within the Town of Troy, the address where the absentee ballot should be sent, if different, the date of the election and your signature.

4.      You can also personally go to the Clerk's office during regular office hours, complete a written application, and vote an absentee ballot.

 

The deadline for making application to vote absentee by mail is 5:00 p.m. the Thursday prior to the election.  The deadline for making an application in person and voting by absentee ballot in the Clerk’s office is 5:00 p.m. the Monday prior to the election.
